Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Southington all the way!

Though December was a cold month, nothing could stop STEPS volunteers from standing outside of Price Chopper, ringing their Salvation Army bells in hopes for donations from the shoppers on December 9th, 2011. Volunteers of all ages came to support the cause and have fun by bell ringing and drinking hot chocolate.

What was so great about this opportunity was that the money STEPS raised went directly back in to the Southington community, to help those without, enjoy their holiday season.

In just one day, the bell ringers raised $252.00 for the Southington community. Dr. Erardi, Superintendent of Southington Schools mentioned that he was “just proud that this is happening in Southington.”

Trish Kenefick, STEPS volunteer, expressed that everyone who passed by was very generous and thankful that the youth were outside ringing the Salvation Army bells for such a great cause – to help families and youth in Southington.
