Essay Opportunity for Students!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO GET HEALTHY??

In support and cooperation with the Healthy Family FunFest to be held on Sunday, March 4th at the Aqua Turf, Activate Southington, Southington Community YMCA and STEPS are providing an opportunity for local students to share their feelings and ideas on what it means to be healthy.

STEPS Community Forum

On Wednesday, March 7th, 2012 at 7pm, STEPS will be hosting a Community Forum to reveal the recent results from the Search Institute’s Attitudes and Behavior Survey – which was taken by the 7th, 9th & 11th grade students of the Southington Public School System in November. These results will reveal reasons to celebrate the work of STEPS and the Southington Community as well as reveal reasons to stay connected to our mission of growing great kids! More »

The Southington Board of Education’s continued effort to provide a safe environment for all will now include an anonymous safety tip-line that will officially launch on Monday, January 9, 2012.

Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Southington all the way!

Though December was a cold month, nothing could stop STEPS volunteers from standing outside of Price Chopper, ringing their Salvation Army bells in hopes for donations from the shoppers on December 9th, 2011. Volunteers of all ages came to support the cause and have fun by bell ringing and drinking hot chocolate.

What was so great about this opportunity was that the money STEPS raised went directly back in to the Southington community, to help those without, enjoy their holiday season. More »
